Hand tool

I am using Acrobat 7 for Windows (XP Pro). We also have Acrobat 9 on other computers. For years I have been intermittently getting an annoying arrow on the hand tool, so that instead of moving the text when you click on it, it magnifies it 350x! There seems no way to change it back to a regular hand tool, I checked all the tools and options. Who thinks up these kind of torturous pranks? The arrow hand tool goes back to a regular hand at the margins of the text, but on the text itself it's an arrow hand tool. Thanks.
