The application is being terminated...

I get an error message when I close Acrobat 7: 'The application is being terminated because of memory corruption.' This may be related to another problem when I open a pdf document online with the Acrobat 7, I only get about 5 seconds to save it before it converts itself to a blank screen! It somehow started happening some months ago. There may be some interaction with an Acrobat reader 9 or 10 that I had installed for a time but uninstalled. I am running Kapersky AV 8.0 and XP Pro with all the latest Microsoft securities installed.The application is being terminated...

Having more than one Acrobat or Reader product on the same machine causes problems. Uninstalling makes the problem worse. You need to re-install Acrobat.

Or at least run a repair. Removal of Reader usually breaks Acrobat.
